Medical History Timeline
See a patient's complete clinical history in one chronological view: every Appointment, diagnosis, prescription, investigation, and follow-up, all in one place.
What is the Medical History Timeline?
The Medical History Timeline is a chronological feed of everything that has happened with a patient in Cliops. It is the single source of truth for a patient's clinical history: useful for the dentist to review past treatments before starting a new consultation.
Who can use this?

The timeline contains clinical data (diagnosis, prescriptions, investigations)
- which Receptionists can view for scheduling and administrative purposes.
Opening the Timeline
Web App (Two Ways):
- Global Timeline: Click Timeline in the left sidebar → Search for the patient by name/mobile → Select the patient to view their full timeline.
- Patient Profile: Open any patient's profile → Scroll down to the Patient Timeline card to view the feed.
Mobile App:
- Open the patient.
- Tap Timeline.
- Scroll down to see older events.
What Appears in the Timeline?
Every event is shown as a card in chronological order (newest first). Each card is colour-coded and labeled by its type:

Navigating the Timeline: Events are ordered newest first: scroll down to go further back in history.
- Each event card shows the date and time it was recorded.
- Appointment cards show the appointment sequence number (e.g. Appointment #3) so you can quickly track how many times the patient has been seen.
- Investigation cards show a preview thumbnail for images: tap/click to open the full image.
- Prescription cards list all medicines from that Appointment in a condensed view.
Accessing the Full Appointment from the Timeline
Each timeline event is linked back to its original Appointment. Tap/click the Appointment card or any event card to navigate directly to the full Appointment detail: where you can see all sections together.
What is NOT in the Timeline

| Lab orders | Internal clinic data. You can view them by opening the specific past appointment where the lab order was created. |
| Dentogram chart entries | Highly visual data. You can view past charts by opening any past appointment and navigating to the Dentogram tab. |
Tips for Dentists
- Before starting a consultation: Review the timeline to see the patient's diagnosis history, previous prescriptions, and any investigations.
- Check for allergies: Allergy alerts appear in the patient header on Appointment pages: not in the timeline feed itself.
- Tracking treatment progress: Use the Appointment sequence number and diagnosis notes across timeline entries to track how a treatment is progressing over multiple Appointments.
